Jump for Joy

We went to the farm for Thankgiving, or Thankmas since we celebrated Christmas with my side of the family while we were there. My parents bought a trampoline for the grandkids. It was a big hit! The weather was great, so they had a lot of playtime on it.

Putting it together was not going so well until they decided to actually read the directions. It worked much better after that.

Midnight Visitor

I have to admit
I don't mind a bit
When a sweet visitor crawls in my bed
He snuggles right in
And gives me a grin
When I tenderly kiss his soft head
His breathing sounds sweet
And I feel his feet
Warmly resting on top of my thigh
What warm joy he brings
With him my heart sings
Midnight visitor in bed on the sly

Why Can't We be Friends?

Our kitty, Ash, is an old and grumpy kitty. She just wants to be left alone. She has no interest in making friends with our puppy, Maggie. Sweet Maggie desperately wants to be friends with Ash. She will follow Ash around (keeping a respectable distance). She will creep as close as she can to Ash. This day, she managed to get this close (just out of hissing distance). They slept quite peacefully together, as long as the space remained. Maybe there is hope after all, but I doubt it.

Graffiti

While driving to my appointment, I noticed this great wall. Perfect for a photo shoot. There was a Wal Mart right there, so coordinating shirts were easy to buy. The light was decent, and the boys were mostly happy. Bonus - I didn't see any bad words on the wall.

Good thing because Cade was trying to read every word.

Notice anything off in this picture? Like maybe a zipper?
The other boys checking their zippers after Dylan's was discovered to be down.
They thought this was hysterical!

HYSTERICAL

Nate's face looks so strange because he is singing "Star Wars" to me

Chase has a bit of a busted lip, so his smile is a little off
Still a cutie!

Alien Abduction

After Chase's football game on Saturday, the boys went with me to work. We stopped for a photo op at the "spaceship". By the way, Chase played another great game, and his team won. Unfortunately, I did not remember the camera for the game.

Nate the Star Student and Overachiever

Here is a paper that Nate completed at school. They were supposed to glue kernels of corn onto the paper and then write down how many they counted. Nate was obviously not into this assignment. He glued a grand total of one onto the paper. What an overachiever!

Nate was recently the Star Student at school. Here is the poster that we (meaning I) quickly made. The picture of Nate with me has fallen off. Here are some interesting Nate facts.

Things he likes - Swimming, running with running shoes, taking a trip, and going on a boat
His favorite color - Yellow
His favorite TV show - Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
What he wants to be when he grows up - Doctor
His 3 wishes - Changing color cars, new car, new house
Things that he does not like - Make-up, dressing up like a girl
His favorite food - Chicken
His favorite animal - Monkey
His favorite place - Desert

Crunch

People love the fall for many rationale reasons; cooler weather, pretty leaves, Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc. My favorite part of fall is the acorns. I know that makes no sense, but I get a ridiculous amount of pleasure out of crunching acorns. I press my foot down and feel the bump of the acorn followed by a satisfying crunching sound. Awwww. I have shared this silly pleasure with Nate. He now shares my obsession love of acorns. When taking a walk, he will get excited when he spies acorns. He points them out to me so that we can crunch them together. Sometimes he needs a little help with a crunch. He will jump up and down and press hard with no luck. He finally asks me for help, and I am always happy to assist :) Someday when he is grown up he will be walking along crunching acorns and a friend will ask him why in the world he does that. He will have to blame his crazy mother. I hope he thinks of me every single time he crunches one, and I hope he does not need therapy for an acorn obsession ;)

Another Saturday of Football

Chase had 2 more football games on Saturday. I had to work, but I was told that he did a good job. Unfortunately, they lost both games :(

Look at those leg muscles!

Pictures from my Video Camera

Here are some pictures that I have finally downloaded off of my video camera. They are very poor quality. These are from February through around April.

Dylan getting his "Student of the Month" award (also known as the PTA ploy to get you to attend a meeting)

Same night, silly boys

I took Cade and Nate to the Imagination Movers concert at Bass Hall. They both LOVED it! It was such a wonderful day. Worth every penny. I can't believe how young Cade looks in this picture. He has really grown this year.

Chase with some of his buddies. He has really grown too!
