Sweet, Sick Messes

Our life from mid-January through the first week of February can be summed up with one word, sick! Someone in our home was sick almost every single day for 3 weeks. Stomach virus, croup, strep, impetigo - you name it, we shared it with each other. It was not a fun time.
Aren't they super cute!

Another very sad thing that happened during this time is that one of Nate's classmates was killed by a dog in a tragic accident. We did not tell Nate about it. It is always so hard to hear about things like that happening. It is my greatest fear. It also helps to remind you about what is important. So when Nate accomplished this later that day, we were able to just laugh about it and clean it up. We felt grateful that he is with us to make those big messes.

But he is a stinker!

Few Phone Pics from Six Flags

Nate in the puke inducer, I mean the teacups. I can only handle this ride once on a good day. My boys love it!
The horses are always a hit with Nate
One of our trips was with my brother and his family. We had a great day.

Random December Pics from my Phone

The boys thought that this was hysterical - this was a Cabela's shopping trip. I wonder who we were shopping for?

Nate just looking cute during Cade's Little Gym class

Nate did a lot of Christmas shopping with me. He really did not mind, especially when he got to take a ride with Spidey

A few pictures from our Ihop visit after seeing Santa. Nate is by his best buddy! This is also the trip that I managed to spill an entire Dr. Pepper inside of my purse!!!!! Great fun! Dr. Pepper was dripping out of the bottom of my purse.

Cade was really enjoying his pancake!

Isn't he a cutie!

Nate LOVES Mark's binoculars. If Mark leaves a pair out, then Nate manages to find it.

Chase is so thrilled about his phone!

Cade's ouchie developing into a bit of a black eye

Christmas in Abilene

We spent the weekend after Christmas in Abilene with Mark's side of the family. With his family, everyone picks a name and buys a gift for that person. I had Ann's name. Nate joined me on my shopping trip to buy Ann some shoes. When we set down for dinner on Saturday, we were discussing how we would be opening presents. Nate proceeds to tell Ann, "Grammy, we got you some shoes." He was so sweet and excited. He had no idea that he had just spoiled the surprise.

I played with my new video camera during this time, so I did not get as many pictures as normal.
My nephew, Trent.
Trent, Dylan, and Drew - what cute boys!

Trent with his new soccer ball.

Nate was having a lot of fun!

He loves his train stuff

Ann opening up her gift - she had no idea what it was! Nate was so excited to show her the shoes.

Grammy was not opening it fast enough

Look how he is pointing to his foot - in case Grammy does not know where the shoes belong :)
The next week, we hung out around the house. We even managed to fit in 2 trips to Six Flags. We get our money's worth out of our season passes. The boys really loved sledding.

No Christmas is Complete...

until you can share a bowl of Cheetos with your cousin :)

And of course there had to be at least one big injury

Christmas Day

It is obvious that I will never fully catch up on my work. I get so close, and then more work comes in :( Oh well. My poor neglected blog needs some attention. There has been so much going on, and I am going to forget the fun things that I want to remember. I think that Facebook has taken up too much of my time! Here comes my attempt at catching up on my blog.

Here is some more from Christmas (I am still blogging about Christmas, and it is February - pathetic!)

The boys had fun playing with their new stuff. Nate loved his Batman cave

My grandmother was able to make it on Christmas day. I was glad to see her. Her health has really deteriorated since the last time I saw her. My "eccentric" uncle is also in the picture.

My nephew got Rock Band, and it was used a lot!

My sweet niece, Hannah

My nephew, Ben. This picture deserves a funny caption!

My niece, Emily

Wesley and Ben on the drums.

The band!

My uncle and my dad used to be in a band. They joined in the Rock Band fun.

Riding the horse on the farm :)

My sister stole my camera and took some silly pictures.

Ben looking oh so pleasant

My dad pulled out his old Fender Stratocaster guitar (1962 I believe). He was surprised when he learned how much this guitar is now worth.

More silly pictures

Great News!!

The rest of the blog catch-up is on the way. You might ask, "Why?". Because I am almost caught up on my work!!!!!!!!!!!!! This has not happened since before Nate was born! Maybe there is an upside to having sick kids for more than 2 weeks :) The rest of Christmas is coming soon. I can't believe that I have not finished Christmas!!!
