We recently had some testing done on Cade. I am struggling a bit about what to put on the blog. This blog is mostly for me. It is my scrapbook, but it is also public. I don't want to say things that Cade would regret me saying some day, but maybe someone out there is dealing with the same struggles and would benefit from my writing about it. At this point, I just don't know how much I will (or should) write about it. I will say that the results did not surprise us at all, they simply confirmed what we already believed. The testing revealed many of his strengths, such as his intelligence. It is believed by everyone that the struggles that he does have are able to be addressed and that he will grow up to be a happy and productive person, he just may have to work harder in some areas. The testing has also made me more aware of how excellent Cade's teachers are and have been and what a great school he attends. His teacher is already doing the majority of the things that are recommended.
Cade is one of the sweetest boys. He is loving and sweet and smart and cute and a loyal friend and simply precious. That is what I want others to know about my Cader Raider.

Different Enough
Different enough
to feel like an alien.
Same enough
To bleed red.
Different enough
To be hurt by your touch.
Same enough
To crave it.
Different enough
To get tongue tied.
Same enough
To have something to say.
Different enough
To be awkward.
Same enough
To know it.
Different enough
To struggle with standards.
Same enough
To be held to them.
Different enough
To garner their stares.
Same enough
To notice them.
Different enough
To be an outsider.
Same enough
To want in.

Oh my sweet, friend. What a powerful post. Cade is such a blessed boy to have you and Mark for parents, and to have such a strong family unit of aunts and uncles and cousins. He's beautiful, he's made in God's image, he's precious, he's priceless. He has a story to tell and one day he'll share with his own children what a fabulous mom you are.
Love that sweet boy. He is nothing but precious.
