Cookout at the Cabin

On Wednesday night at Blue Haven, we cooked out hot dogs. The boys had great fun with the fire. Their favorite activity was throwing things (like fish) into the fire. We had hot dogs and smores - yummy :) After the cookout was the now famous sleep out which involved Mark getting sprayed by a skunk. Cade is not in any of these pictures. He had had enough and was a mess. You should have seen the dramatics! He spent most of this evening in the cabin.

Can you see the fish flying?

Don't ask me why he had the helmet on, I have no idea!

The cabin that we stayed in at Blue Haven had a loft. It also had scary stairs (steep with no railings) leading up to the loft. Nate was not allowed to go up the stairs by himself, which of course upset him. We finally started helping him up and down so that he could play with the boys up here. Doesn't he look happy?

After a Long Hike

After a long hike, there is nothing better than playing in the water :)

I love this picture

Mark said that playing in the water made a huge difference in calming Cade down. You can still tell that he is struggling some - do you see how stiff his arms are?

The boys got very wet!!

A Hike with Mark

Mark took some of the boys on a hike. Cade had a very hard day on this day. At one point, he got stung a couple of times by bees. None of my other kids have ever been stung. Cade must taste like nectar to the bees. Cade reacted STRONGLY to being stung. He was screaming so much that some women near them asked if they needed to call an ambulance. That is how loud and strong Cade was screaming. Dylan informed the women that Cade just has sensory issues :)

It's Britney!

So my hysterical nephew came out looking like this and saying that he was Britney Spears. Look at the image that she is leaving :( My even more hysterical husband stuck a pillow up Cade's shirt and stated that it was Jamie Lyn Spears. The boys then put on a show.

The audience was not impressed.

Craft Time with Charlotte

Of course it rained some when we were in New Mexico. Charlotte had brought a craft project to do. The boys melted good smelling beads using a cookie cutter to give the object a shape. Cade especially loved it. He made a spider that he played with and carried around.

Nate was snacking during his craft project. At least he did not eat any of the beads :)
